About Henderson Associates

Ivan Henderson is an experienced legislator, having served eight years as the Member of Parliament for Harwich. Ivan has been a Parliamentary Private Secretary across four Government Departments, including the Home Office and the Treasury. Ivan now brings these skills to clients, advising and supporting on legislation and policy changes as well as consulting on political strategy for business.

A former national docks official for the RMT Union, Ivan has over 20 years experience in the transport industry with extensive skills in local and national government as well as industrial relations issues.

Projects that Ivan has worked on include the successful approval of port developments at Bathside Bay in Harwich and at Felixstowe South, both on behalf of Hutchison Ports UK. He has also been involved in Unitry Borough projects with Bedford Borough Council, assisting Unison in campaigning for members rights and with the Passenger Transport Executive Group (PTEG), supporting them in attaining extra investment from Government bodies with on-going support for both rail and more recently, improved bus transport legislation.
